happy ending?

When life throws a sucker punch, what better thing to do but pick up the divine book of guidance? In the Qur’an, Allah tells us the story of Prophet Yusuf, using an entire chapter to detail his life from happy child, to scared captive, to slave, to prisoner, to the vizier who saves his people from starvation. If an individual was to meet Yusuf as he lay imprisoned for years in Egypt, and ask the Prophet to retell his story, what would we hear?
We would hear a tale of heartbreak, betrayal, grief, deceit; where a young man is betrayed by his brothers and left  to die, sold into slavery, raised far from his loving parents, tricked by his master’s wife, and jailed for false reasons. Looking at his story from this snapshot in time, without knowing the rest of the story, one would be inclined to see the injustice happening to one of the best of creation. What did he do to deserve this? But as his story unfolds, and the Prophet Yusuf is made a vizier of Egypt, he guides his country to successfully survive famine. It becomes clear how every event in his life was divinely ordained by Allah for the good of himself and the good of his people.

It is difficult – perhaps even foolhardy – to judge events in this life when we do not understand the qadr (divine will) of Allah. Perhaps our trials will end in success in this life; perhaps they will guarantee us success in the life to come. Our role is to face our tests with sabr (patience), remembering to have tawakul (trust) in Allah and worshipping Him with sincerity. As Allah says in the Qur’an, “We grant the Home in the Hereafter to those who do not seek superiority on earth or spread corruption: the happy ending is awarded to those who are mindful of God.” (28:83)

The Last Sermon

Also known as khutbatul wada'. Rasulullah delivered this khutbah in front of a large crowd during his last Hajj. Imagine if anyone rasa or have the feelings that he will die soon, surely he will only talk about something very important yang tahap melampau je kan. So this is what Rasulullah SAW ckp in his very last sermon, sume bnda penting and very crucial, take time and reflect, please.

O People
Lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.

O People
Just as you regard this month, this day, this city as sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds. Allah has forbidden you to take usury (interest); therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity.

Allah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all interest due to Abbas Ibn ‘Abd al Muttalib (the Prophet's uncle) shall henceforth be waived.

Beware of Satan for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People
It is true that you have certain rights in regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives, only under Allah's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat you women well and be kind to them, for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with anyone of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.

O People
Listen to me in earnest, worship Allah, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat.

Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black, nor a black has any superiority over a white- except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim, which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not therefor, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember one day you will appear before Allah and answer for your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone. People, no prophet or apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well therefore, O people, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Quran and the Sunnah (Hadith), and if you follow these you will never go astray. All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listened to me directly.
Be my witness, O Allah, that I have conveyed your message to your people."

This will always be my favorite yet the saddest speech to read, reflect and ponder upon. May Allah guide us. Allahumma ameen.

2 DhulHijjah 1430

Maka marilah kawan-kawan kita berdoa banyak-banyak beribu-ribu lemon ok.

اللَّهُمَّ انْفَعْنِي بِمَا عَلَّمْتَنِي وَ عَلِّمْنِي مَا يَنْفَعُنِي وَ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا

Allahumma-infa'nī bimā 'alamtanī wa 'allimnī mā yanfa'unī wa zidnī 'ilmā
O Allah, benefit me from that which You taught me, and teach me that which will benefit me, and increase me in knowledge.

these ten days.

hajj
Ibn `Abbas (as) reported that the
Prophet (sAw) said: "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days."
The people asked, "Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?"
He said, "Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight, giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing."
 (Al-Bukhari)

May we benefit from these blessed ten days, in sya Allah.

help me God

so true.

Pizza in his pocket

Alright fine this song might be so last year but I just knew it last weekend. Thanks Arny! Cam suka tahap dewa hohoho. Yummy food mentioned in the song, omigosh nak makan nak makan! Haha bukan nak learn the lesson kan. Really made my day =)

Did you ever hear about the boy

Who ate and ate and ate!
He ate early in the morning
And he ate when it was late.
But he didn’t thank Allah for all the yummy food he had
And he ate so much it made him sick!
Which really made him sad.

He ate dates in
Damascus, which he thought were very nice.
And hot samoosas in
Sumatra, seasoned with a special spice.
He had tacos in
Tijuana with some sauce he got from Spain
And a bowl of fresh bakalava that he bartered in
Bahrain.
He said gyros made in
Cairo are a taste that can’t be beat,
And the lemonade in
Yemen made a very special treat.
But the turkey made in
Turkey
Could still use a pinch of salt.
If you ever visit
Malta, you should
Have a chocolate malt!
He had pizza in his pocket, he had ketchup on his shirt,
And he bought an ice-cream sundae, so he wouldn’t miss dessert.
He had pizza in his pocket, he had ketchup on his shirt,
And he bought an ice-cream sundae, so he wouldn’t miss dessert.
On a bay in the
Bahamas,
He ate bon-bons in a bunch.
And then he rushed back
Home so he could make it
Just in time for lunch!

Then one day he saw a little girl, who held her tummy tight,
And he walked over and asked her if everything was alright.
She said she was so hungry and had been hungry for so long,
Then he realized the way he ate was very very wrong.
He looked down at his own tummy and he started feeling pain-
Pain from eating too much food, but he knew not to complain.
So he brought the girl some food, shared it with her family,
Then they thanked Allah for what they had, and then he let them be.

So let’s try to learn a lesson and let’s try to do what’s right.
Eat the food your parents give you without a fuss or fight.
Always be thankful to Allah for all your yummy food,
Share what you have with others, because not sharing is rude.
Being thankful is what’s really great.
Eat the veggies on your plate.
And don’t be like the boy who always ate and ate and ate!

Mari kita belajar satu perkataan yg mudah.

Assalamu'alaikum.

Ok sebut lagi sama2. kuat kuat ok .

Assalamu'alaikum. Assalamu'alaikum. Assalamu'alaikum.

Sebut lagi 5 kali. Tambah 11 kali lagi. Nice pandai2.
Bila nak cakap perkataan ni? Bila kita jumpa seseorang yang nampak macam muslim sbb de pakai tudung ke or apa2 yg sesuai dgn muslim. Takyah gedik2 nak cakap "hey" or "hi" or "smekom" atau ape2 la yg anda suka sebut. Ok got it hik?

ni lepas agak2 sepuluh kali termalu sendiri. Cth:
A: Heey
B:  Hey Assalamu'alaikum. Hows everything?
A: Wa'alaikumusslm. yes, great great. (da termalu sendiri) How about you?
B: Alhamdulillah. A lil bit busy but alhamdulillah great.
A: (termalu lg rasa nak lempang diri sendiri.)

What I noticed here in America, kawan kawan seagama saya bercakap dgn penuh emmm what should I call it? cam "masyaAllah sister, your hijab is really beautiful" etc etc. cam penuh dgn masyaAllah, subhanAllah, AlhamduLillah etc etc. Haaaaa lu pikir la sndri.
May Allah grant us His guidance. Allahumma ameen.

Silver Bean @ Chicago

This is one of my favorite places. (lupakan swiss, pisa, niagara, etc haha). Heh selok tgk bnda silver ni, the shape is like a bean, or doughnut yang belom goreng lagi. I wonder how they built this thing. cam wah menarik sgt. and stereotype "architect sgt macho" cam betol je hahaha.

Oya ckp org obses ngn diri sndiri je suka benda ni sbb what u actually see is yourself. Oh meaning saya obses with myself lah? sbb saya suka bnda ni. like a lot. Cantik oh. You can see the buildings around with perfect blue sky reflected atas bean yg bulat dan licin tu. Comel sgt.

this was actually under the bean, you can see your tiny reflections on the silver wall.

and my last fall here in US slowly fade away. sobs.

off to Atlanta again tomorrow for AlMaghrib class.
Alhamdulillah for all the blessings (time, great ppl around, money, etc etc etc.)
Everything is just perfect.

Favorite.

Ni youtube feveret saya. all time. dengar da byk kali je macam. ada dua org syeikh yg saya suka sgt2. si hensem Syeikh Hamza Yusuf and sorang lagi mmg saya suspect since first time jumpa, Syeikh Suhaib Webb. Eh ehh notice that both of them are converts, cakap Arab bekebuk kebuk. Diorg converted time college, so I assumed 20 lebeh la kan umurnya. Harapan utk dri sndri - sempat lagi nak blaja arab and cakap bekebuk2 ni. hahaha. Jom amek arab, ok cepat g jumpa ustaz Busyra! Smoga ada berita gembira (busyra) utk saya! Enjoy the vid.

oh oh Suhaib Webb ckp de checked out Quran from public library, baca dlm tandas (sbb cuak ngn parents and he didnt know the rules, yet). Betapalah berminat nak discover Quran tu kan. Kita bagaimana pula? Seriously, kita bagaimana?

Loves. Picture perfect!

a: sume nampak ceria dlm gmbar ni
me: well it runs in my blood u know. the ceria thing.
a: ceh no wonder u're a BME major
me: what?

do you know that theres an art that they called

hint-ing
heh I still think that straight forward words do better in most cases. kalo nak kata nak, kalo tak nak cakap tak nak. then i'll get it. kalo tak tau senyap sudey jgn byk ckp hik. but hinting? not with me perhaps. art is beauty but this one, I just dont get it haha.
and so many things happened lately, making everything better. yes, better for sure.

btw do you know why Allah calls his servants muflihoon?
muflihoon from the word fallah(farmer)

because they cultivate this dunya to harvest the akhira.

or maybe they are suppose to.
kita bagaimana pula?
jeng jeng jeng
