3. When a muslim get older, he will remember the future (the akhirah). Not the past. You do more and more ibadah as you get older. Rasulullah taught Fatimah and his son in law to do zikr before go to sleep, it is very important. (This is the same advice both Shaykh Abdullah bin Bayyah and Habib Al Jifri always give - implying it is very important). May zikr be our last words before we leave this world, Allahumma ameen!

4. Study religion!

Seperti kerja yang bagus, a handsome rich spouse TETT, markah yang agak bagus walaupun rasa macam dah fail, hot shower in winter, dapat anak/anak sedara comel tahap dewa, meeting friends and family after so long, delicious food when the stomach is empty, kereta idaman dibayar cash haha or even as simple as membeli Milka yang super duper murah?

Itu perasaan happy yang sementara. Tak setuju? Sape still rasa happy sekarang sebab dia dapat makan nasik lemak sedap gila 2 tahun sebelum tu sila angkat tangan? 

Knowing that, mari kita bersama sama berusaha untuk mendapat happy yang selamanya acewahhh.

Start with simple things seperti kalau sebelum ni suka pakai baju short sleeve marilah memakai baju long sleeve (ni pompuan la kalau laki nak join pon boleh haha), kalau sebelum ni suka berprasangka buruk marilah beristighfar bila fikiran buruk terlintas, kalau sebelum ini suka menjawab kata kata ibu bapa marilah kita senyum dan senyap, kalau sebelum ni sedekah 55 sen setahun marilah kita jadikan 55 ringgit pulak tahun ni, kalau sebelum ini laju seperti air keluar perkataan perkataan power dari mulut marilah kita slowkan, kalau sebelum ni tak semayang sunat before after solat wajib mohle kita, kalau sebelum ni dua tahun sekali tahajud mari kita buat jadi setahun sekali and yeah do remember that everyone of us has his or her own struggle!

Al Maghrib is just phenomenal. I mean, when I was in US, I just couldn't get enough of Al Maghrib. Everytime pergi, balik akan rasa awesome. Macam "hoh awesomenya Al-Maghrib kali ni!" Lepas tu, pergi next, eh yang ni pon awesome jugak! 

Kawan kawan di Malaysia, please make time for the event. Bawak kaum kerabat sanak sauudara adik beradik rakan taulan jiran tetangga segala. Kalau tak boleh pergi both weekends, go for just one but I guarantee that you sooo gonna come back for the next one.

We drove hundreds miles over the weekends, we worked extra hours to have enough money for the trip, we studied in between the lunch break for the exams/homeworks/projects, we basically did everything we could not to miss the class. because we just love al-maghrib.

Pray for #Egypt

The whole world is worrying about whats happening in Egypt but I'm here thinking bout what should I wear for the interview. Someone please slap me in the face already.

Watching al Jazeera made me think hard. Have we ever thank Allah enough for the idea of peace and being able to simply put on our winter jacket to go to nearby store buying needs? Those blessings that we seemed to take for granted.

and those Tyrants and so called leaders should "ketaq lutut" already. China blocked the internet, and even in Egypt itself you'll see peace in the local TV as in it was totally different with what you watched in Al-Jazeera.

Heh walau bukan di dunia justice tertegak, akhirat itu pasti.

on a different note, saya selalu jealous dengan orang di malaysia sebab ada surau bersepah. eh mungkin tak bersepah tapi tersusun rapi kot. hmm. honestly tu lah saya rasa bila ada kat malaysia few months back. ambil air sembahyang dalam surau wah macam heaven tau tak!! walaupun lepas tu merungut dengan kain sembahyang yang surau provide if you know what i mean hahaha. bila struggle cari tempat solat, benda yang terlintas is semoga nanti saya settle down di tempat yang senang nak tunaikan solat, dan tempat yang menghormati waktu solat jumaat (tak buat meeting or event or whatever waktu solat jumaat ceyy cam laki pulak fikir tiba tiba). apa2 pon hasil hidup 21 tahun(actually mungkin hasil 4 tahun di Vandy) mengajar bahawa bumi Allah semuanya suci melainkan yang terbukti tidak. tapi still, banyak delima buah delima yang dihadapi. hey dont judge, okay bye.

p/s: jangan lupa berdoa walaupon mungkin kita solat tip top sebab esok lusa kita tak tau apa akan jadi, kita tak tau apa yang bakal Allah uji kita dengan. Wah ayat sungguh bagus impress2 HAIH.

FOUND IT! dalam kotak water filter. omg kreatifnya laaaa kemas barang abang aku nihh hahaha. harap2 abeje tak baca, okay, mmg yakin pon he will not waste his time dlm blog ni kakaka.

4 Zulhijjah - I am Near!

Fed up lah tunggu music video dia. tak kelua keluar walaupon hari hari check. so maknanya hari hari kecewa la sebab hari hari berharap haha. Native Deen ni one of my fav jugak, few songs yang macam best. tapi saya rasa ni lah paling best up till now. sebab ayat surah al baqarah "I am near" ni mmg favorite top ten. Haha byk betol favorite. Betol tak tipu tak caya boleh korek ibnulazim, i think i wrote about it last year.

2 ZulHijjah!

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَمَنْ زُحْزِحَ عَنِ النَّارِ وَأُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ فَقَدْ فَازَ وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ

Tiap-tiap yang berjiwa akan merasakan mati. Dan sesungguhnya pada hari kiamat sajalah disempurnakan pahalamu. barangsiapa dijauhkan dari neraka dan dimasukkan ke dalam syurga, maka sungguh ia telah beruntung. Kehidupan dunia itu tidak lain hanyalah kesenangan yang memperdayakan. 

(Surah Ali Imran, ayat 185)

jangan berhenti berdoa agar kita semua tergolong di kalangan orang orang yang beruntung! haa lagi lagi di  dalam 10 hari terbaik di dunia ini :)

Taking advantage of the first 10 days

Dalam 7 hari yang kita ada, Jumaat is the best day. Lepas tu, dalam byk2 bulan pulak, Ramadhan is the most blessed. Tapi... jeng jeng jeng.. kalau combine semua2 sebenarnya, the most blessed days are the first ten days of Zul Hijjah. So macam mana ngan the last ten days of ramadhan pulak? Okay pening. First ten days of Zul hijjah and last ten days of Ramadhan, dua dua pon blessed. Tapi first ten days of Zulhijjah tu waktu siang dia better than waktu siang last ten days of Ramadhan and sepuluh malam terakhir Ramadhan tu better than sepuluh malam terawal Zulhijjah. Pehe dok gapo ambo nop oyak ni? Haha

Serious, dalam 21 tahun hidup kat dunia ni, saya tak penah tau pon. Haih kecewa ngn diri sendiri. Tu la banyak sangat tido, mungkin time ustaz bagi kuliah maghrib kat integrasi dulu, saya tido krogh2 agaknya cuk3. Sempat lagi tido walaupon cikgu asmui jaga ngn rotan kat blakang surau haha.  

Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) has said about the first ten days of Zul Hijjah:

"There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days." The people asked, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah?" He said, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing."

Jadi apa kita boleh buat dalam these 10 blessed days ni?

• Hajj and Umrah. 

Ni the best lah for sure. Kalau da ada sumber duit sendiri tu maybe shd set a fund for it now and yang penting make du'a that Allah will open a way, insyaAllah :)

• Fasting 

hanya utk org yg tak buat Hajj. Fasting ni utk the first nine days sbb hari ke sepuluh dah raya kan and it is emphasized on the 9th of  Dhul Hijjah sebab:

Abu Qatadah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was asked about the observance of fasting on the day of `Arafah. He said, "It is an expiation for the sins of the preceding year and the current year.'' [Muslim].

Wow kan? Kalau renung-renung balik, tahun lepas, berapa banyak agaknya dosa dah kita buat? Haih

Best ni sbb maghrib kat sini pukul 430pm yes!

• Zikr
• Repentance 
• Extra voluntary deeds 

prayers(tahajjud), charity, reading Quran 

• Pray the Eid Prayer (obligatory)
• Sacrifice an animal

Last year's raya dah missed. Tahun ni miss lg hm.

I hope this year will be better, more than fasting on the 9th or "yay raya haji" feeling. Berusaha!

Ada rasa sedikit kesal kerana tidak dapat berjumpa shaykh mokhtar moghraoui sebelum meninggalkan US. Haha sedikit poyo di situ, tapi, u know.. the kind of feeling mcm oh insyaAllah akan jumpa lagi orang ni sebab banyak lagi masa tapi sebenarnya tak jumpa pon sampai balik mesia for real. Sebenarnya maybe I was too excited sbb expect akan jumpa shaykh ni masa RIS tapi tengok tengok tade pon kecewa2. So ICNA 08 kat Hartford  was actually first time and last time jumpa kot. If I knew it was the last time, I would appreciate more.

Apa yang best sangat jumpa shaykh2 ni? padahal bukannya jumpa like ckp depan2 ke camtu(kalau brothers lain la kan haha). susah nak explain. Ala maybe perasaan jumpa orang bagus2 la, kita rasa cam wow bagusnyaaaa orang ni and rasa cam boleh dengar dia ckp for the whole day. semua benda yang keluar dari mulut dia macam aaahh nak dengar lagi nak dengar lagi ala ala cam drugs gitu haha. apa awak merepek ni naziha haha.  Dulu terselisih(haa ke sengaja cari jalan yang sama haha) ngan hamza yusuf or even translator habib ali pon dah wah haha rasa gumbira gumbira berbunga bunga. Maybe ni kelebihan Allah bagi kat mereka2- bila orang tengok diorang, orang rasa gumbira. (ceh semangat eja gembira as gumbira haha)

Teringat hadis ni: Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Prophet said, "When Allah loves a slave, calls out Jibril and says: `I love so-and-so; so love him'. Then Jibril loves him. After that he (Jibril) announces to the inhabitants of heavens that Allah loves so-and-so; so love him; and the inhabitants of the heavens (the angels) also love him and then make people on earth love him".

for love for Me and love for it cannot be combined in one heart

A tradition from the Prophet ﷺ states that Allah the Exalted revealed to the Prophet Dawud,

“O Dawud, give glad tidings to the sinners and give warning to the righteous.”

He replied,

“My Lord, how is it that I should give glad tidings to the guilty, and warn those who do good?”

Allah the Exalted said,

“Give glad tidings to the sinner that no sin is too grave for Me to forgive; and warn the righteous against admiring their own work [which leads to ostentation]—for I do not hold someone strictly to account for their deeds, except that they are destroyed.

O Dawud, if you claim to love Me, then remove the love of this world from your heart, for love for Me and love for it cannot be combined in one heart.

O Dawud, whoever has love for Me stands in worship at night while the idle are sleeping, and remembers Me in solitude while others are heedless, and is thankful for My blessings while others are neglectful.”

Amazingnya oh macam2 benda orang boleh pikir and have misconception about Islam. ada orang fikir, "muslim guy boleh ada girlfriend, tapi muslim women cannot." haha first time saya dgr statement camtu and kah3 gelak on the spot laa apa lagiii. heyy tu tak fair! :)) and also the typical "muslim women is oppressed". ada jugak cop orang2 muslim semua kawin awal. umur belas2 dah kawin (haa pikir umur sendiri ah tu tape2 you are still young kekeke). All of these misunderstandings give us impression that Muslims have so much works to do, dont they?

Anyway, there are 10 parts of this documentary in youtube. Worth to be watched, kawan-kawan.
